I received CP-11 in July for my 2020 federal tax return. I had made an error in how I claimed an $18,000 rollover and IRS flagged it as invalid deduction. I submitted info backing up the claim it was a valid deduction and that I had simply claimed it on line 10a when it should have been accounted for on line 4b as a reduced amount of line 4a. I have submitted the same backup info twice since then. I received notice CP-501 in late August starting penalty and late fee charges. After several tries to get my account put on hold, I finally reached someone and got a 90 day hold. In late Sept. I received notice that IRS had my info but needed 60 days to review. Just last week I got notice they need another 60 days. The 90 day hold has now expired. Any number I try to talk to someone about further hold of my account says “too busy call back later”. Same for when I call the number to schedule an appointment at my local office. In short I simply would like to talk to a rep or meet with a rep. I believe 10 minutes would resolve the issue. And I do not want to start accumulating penalties and fees. Not sure who this email is going to but can you offer any assistance?
